crown land + dispersed camping in Canada
Crown land is publicly owned land where dispersed (free) camping is generally allowed, subject to provincial rules. We index named crown designations and OSM-tagged camp sites across Canada — pick a province below.

how this works
In Ontario, crown land designations (General Use Area, Conservation Reserve, Provincial Park, etc.) define where camping is permitted. In Alberta, PLUZ (Public Land Use Zones) like Ghost PLUZ serve a similar role. Most other provinces don't publish polygon boundaries, so we surface OSM-tagged camp sites instead.
Each province page below shows what we have: named crown areas where they exist, plus user-tagged dispersed camping points from OpenStreetMap. Always check current rules with the province before camping — fire bans and access closures change weekly.
