Rochon Sands Provincial Park is located on the south shore of Buffalo Lake, one of the largest and most popular lakes in central Alberta. Visitors can enjoy a large sandy beach or get into the water to swim, boat, canoe, or fish. The park is very close to the village of Rochan where visitors can find services, including a small concession stand with ice cream and a playground. Rochan Sands is a bird lovers paradise. With its many shallow bays, it provides nesting sites for great blue herons, black-crowned night-herons, Canada geese, ducks, common terns, American avocets and ring-billed gulls.
