what to expect

Prairie Creek Provincial Recreation Area is home to two Group Use Areas and are suitable for larger groups. Both unserviced group sites are located along the peaceful Prairie Creek, perfect for dipping your toes into on a hot summer day. Located only 40km southwest of Rocky Mountain House on Highway 752, this is the perfect spot to get out in nature while not venturing too far from home. While campers may take advantage of the proximity to off-highway vehicle (OHV) trails, off-loading or operating OHVs inside the park is strictly prohibited, with the excpetion of registered campers in the Large Group Use A who must adhere to the 10 km/hr speed limit. OHVs must remain on trailers until they reach the nearby trail systems.
