This site contains: black spruce/tamarack fen; dwarf birch/willow shrubland; sedge wetland; and small areas of upland mixedwood composed of aspen, balsam poplar, paper birch and white spruce. It is good wildlife habitat. This natural area protects more than 1.5 km of Battle Lake shoreline, and has high topographic diversity.
